The Rising Decline Project on Bill Selak Talks: Part 12 of 30

You’ve listened to the episode, now listen to the song, and sing along. Free for a limited time. And by limited, I mean forever.
Note: this is the sixth track of the 15-track album, and episode 12 of the 30 episode podcast series.

Enchantment Under the Sea

Deep down below, inside a foreign land
where the sun had never shown.
There came a day on which a guided youth had earned
the right to step on his own.

Venturing forth, casting his fears aside,
to where he’d never been before.
A gleaming object caught his eye
reflecting off the ocean floor.

Just in front of him, it was shining bright as gold.
To his own self-control, he could not hold.

Swimming faster, he could feel the joy
of the freedom that he’d found.
Igoring all the words of wisdom and the rules that could
no longer tie him to the ground.

He circled once and then he made his move;
his motives justified.
Because he had now reached the age
in his choice he’d rely.

Just in front of him, it was shining bright as gold.
Dancing in the night be followed blindly, unaware.
Death encased within, an object so serene—
a treasure that his eyes had never seen.

Face to face, decision made; his actions uncontrolled.
The last time he’d ignore what he’d been told.
