The Rising Decline Project on Bill Selak Talks: Part 10 of 30

You’ve listened to the episode, now listen to the song, and sing along. Free for a limited time. And by limited, I mean forever.
Note: this is the fifth track of the 15-track album, and episode 10 of the 30 episode podcast series.

Transition to a Better Life

Can I see right through your eyes?
Realize. Expose the lies that I can change the world
cause now you’ve become one of them:
another pawn in the system disguised in a suit and tie.

As you slave from day to day,
do you say this is the way that I imagined it
back when I was full of pride?
So take a look in the mirror,
do you like what you have become?

I’m standing on the edge, at the end; it’s a tragedy.
There’s people looking up telling me to realize,
“Reality is hard, but it’s really not so bad you’ll see
And if you don’t believe…
Take a look at me, I turned out fine.”

You’ve persevered, you’ve passed the test
to become better than the rest.
You’d like to show them all they reasons you’re superior.
And the things that you’ve done in this life you live
without regret.

Are you too important to talk to me? Do I scare you?
Or do I represent everything you left behind?
If you had just one more chance, would you take it back?

I’m standing on the edge, at the end; it’s a tragedy.
There’s people looking up telling me to realize,
“Reality is hard, but it’s really not so bad you’ll see
And if you don’t believe…
Take a look at me, I turned out fine.”

Opportunity. An abundant money tree
and respect from those around you who
envy your vast success.
Opportunity. A wealthy family
who’d wanted more than what you have.

I’m standing on the edge, at the end; it’s a tragedy.
There’s people looking up telling me to realize,
“Reality is hard, but it’s really not so bad you’ll see
And if you don’t believe…
Take a look at me, I turned out fine.”
